Hello everyone another post from me on this sunny February day in Melton. Lots of painting going on here dispite the cold weather. I'm quite obsessed with foxes too at the moment and have been working on lots of studies of them to hopefully have made into prints. Next month. So when ever I'm not busy with customer commission that's what I try to work on. Talking of which I've got a few of my latest to show you, see what you think...
This is a lovely old bull terrier who's owner Karen gave me permission to paint some time ago. Sadly she contacted me recently to tell me that he had cancer and would not be with us much longer. As a surprise her friends arranged to have this commission done as she had told them about my work. She was thrilled when this arrived in the post to commemorate her beautiful boy last week. I was asked to paint this oil portrait of a Rotty as a wedding present. This modern style textured painting was painted on a block canvas using bright colours and made a great original gift. A restoration jobA couple came to me the other day very disappointed by the fading of their photo print done by some disreputable seller who had obviously used poor quality materials. They asked if I could bring the colours back so by priming and then painting and varnishing I was able to put the smiles back on their face. A lesson for all those thinking of having a photo print to save money I think . The quality is often poor and then the seller can not be found. That's about it for now. Coming up next time, some real big heavy weights! Beautiful mastif type dogs.
